Join us for our July meeting. Please note that the meeting is not on our regular date because of building maintenance. Cell Phone Recycling at July VGFD Meeting Cell phones contain toxic materials such as arsenic, lead and zinc. According to a new study by environmental research group Inform, people in the US will soon be getting rid of about 130 million cell phones each year. That's about 65,000 tons of cell phones and ultimately they are thrown away. VGFD will recycle your phone with a recycling company, who will pay us cash for each phone. We can also recycle functioning iPods and Sony PSPs. Phones with little to no resale value will be donated to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Donation guidelines: Please put the phone and any accessories in a plastic ziploc bag. If you have multiple phones please put each phone in a separate bag. To protect your privacy please erase your address book, call history, photos, and text messages. It is not necessary to include the SIM card if your phone uses one. | ||
