Super Tuesday is over, and now it's time to weigh in on choices for the state June 3 primary--and Burbank Dems can forward ous in the DP-SFV framework. It's also time to elect officers, plus sound off on the rest of 2008 events: the elections, speakers and events we want. In only our second year, after making state and federal contacts, one focus of the club this year is outreach to our city officials; another is spreading around the opportunities for more members to have a stake in club leadership--and yes, we have a list to fill! So, for the new members who have joined recently, others who have just found us, and the vets just warming up to 2008--all are welcome!

DPSFV Dems are Invited to Wear Flack Jackets I’m sick and tired of having five Republicans running the City of Santa Clarita. The Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley, the Democratic Alliance for Action of Santa Clarita and many other Democratic organizations have endorsed both Diane Trautman and Maria Gutzeit the (the only Democrats running) for the two available seats. Although the election takes place on April 8, the absentee ballots go out on March 10, and absentee ballots make up 61% of the vote. That means the next two weeks are the most important for getting people to vote for these very qualified candidates – and your support is needed and appreciated. You can walk or call for either candidate or contact the Democratic Neighbors of the 38th AD to work for both campaigns and even get on board for the upcoming June Primary and November General Election. If we can get 100 additional Democrats working on the city council election over the next two weeks, we have a good chance of taking away the Republican monopoly on Santa Clarita City Council.
