Join Valley Democrats United for our spring event on the environment. Our invited speakers include Fmr. Assemblymember Fran Pavley and Assemblymember Lloyd Levine.

They will be discussing their exemplary past work on environmental legislation in the California State legislature. Then they will lay out their analysis of the current environment here in the San Fernando Valley and their vision on how to not only preserve but to enhance our valley, the state, the nation and the world.

Following these two speakers we will have an open "Environmental Town Hall" discussion on the subject.

Wednesday April 16, 2008
Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm

Two highly qualified and well respected Democrats are vying for the Democratic nomination to succeed State Senator Sheila Kuehl, who represents the 23rd Senatorial district.
Lloyd Levine, the current Assemblyman representing the 40th A.D, and former Assemblywoman Fran Pavley (41st A.D.), will face voters at the April meeting of the Valley West Democratic Club. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions of each candidate and then be able to, hopefully, make a decision about who will best represent the District and address its concerns.
The meeting is open to the public; ample parking is available and there is no admission charge. Don't miss this chance to participate in the democratic process!

Join the Burbank Democratic Club for a front-row seat on the passions and "local color" of the state party convention from Lee Wochner, past club president and AD 43 delegate to the clambake. Lee will have visuals as well as his impressions on the grassroots Obama-Clinton rivalry, Bill Clinton's live speech, hot floor fights over endorsements like the AD 40 and SS 3 primaries, and also Phil Donahue's preview of his forthcoming anti-Iraq War film "Body of War," which jumps between a young U.S. soldier gravely injured in Iraq and the attempts by some Senators to lead a fight against the war. The club will also consider endorsing Props 98 and/or 99 on the state June 3 primary ballot, get updates on campaign support this year, and make more plans for the tri-club May 17 family BBQ/picnic with Glendale and Northeast LA Democrats.
