Join Valley Grassroots for Democracy for our April meeting. Our main topic will be the abuses to the Constitution by the Bush Administration. We'll also have a wrap-up of the CDP Convention and the national convention caucuses. And we will be considering an endorsement for Propositions 98 and 99 on the June ballot.
Join the Burbank Democratic Club for a front-row seat on the passions and "local color" of the state party convention from Lee Wochner, past club president and AD 43 delegate to the clambake. Lee will have visuals as well as his impressions on the grassroots Obama-Clinton rivalry, Bill Clinton's live speech, hot floor fights over endorsements like the AD 40 and SS 3 primaries, and also Phil Donahue's preview of his forthcoming anti-Iraq War film "Body of War," which jumps between a young U.S. soldier gravely injured in Iraq and the attempts by some Senators to lead a fight against the war. The club will also consider endorsing Props 98 and/or 99 on the state June 3 primary ballot, get updates on campaign support this year, and make more plans for the tri-club May 17 family BBQ/picnic with Glendale and Northeast LA Democrats.
