Join us for our monthly meeting on May 17.
Our guest will be Assemblymember Felipe Fuentes who will be speaking about his first year in the Assembly. We will also have a presentation on Propositions 98 and 99, and how you can become a poll worker.
We will be collecting items for the AIDS Project Los Angeles food bank. Please bring toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, and small cans of tuna. We will deliver them to the food bank at our next volunteer night on the 21st.
After the scheduled end of the meeting, around noon, we'll be showing the movie "Uncounted: The New Math of American Elections." We'll order pizza and drinks so bring a few bucks to cover the cost.
Come hear the candidates and gobble some BBQ!

KING CORN
the movie
Got Food? Got Energy? Got Government?
ARE YOU SURE?
Follow two young filmmakers as the document the journey of the corn they planted to your dinner table. Q & A following the film. Free admission.
The development, or over development, of Warner Center will be one of the topics addressed by Council member Dennis Zine at the May general meeting of the Valley West Democratic Club.
Zine has been elected to represent the third district for two terms and has a reputation of being one of the few members of the Council who is willing to take tough and often controversial stands.
In addition to the growth of Warner Center, it is expected that the Councilman will also address such issues as the looming budget deficit for Los Angeles, the proposed clean up of the Santa Susana Field Laboratory and the on-going construction at Pierce College.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear a candid discussion, and pose your own questions, about what's happening in the West Valley in particular and the City of Los Angeles in general.
There is ample parking and of course, no fee. The public is welcome to join us!

Sponsored by the Democratic Neighbors of the 38th Assembly District, The Democratic Club of the Santa Clarita Valley, the Democratic Alliance for Action, and the North (San Fernando) Valley Democratic Club.
Join House Subcommittee on Terrorism & Nonproliferation Chairman and Congressman Brad Sherman and Israeli Consulate Political Affairs Director Dillon Hosier for an evening of discussion on the Middle East peace process.
