Whereas, The New York Times has reported that over the last three years, George W. Bush has directed the National Security Agency to conduct domestic surveillance without obtaining court permission, and

Whereas, George W. Bush has subsequently acknowledged ordering such surveillance, and

Whereas, serious concerns have been raised about whether such surveillance is a violation of the United States Constitution, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and/or other applicable portions of the law,

Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley (DP/SFV) supports a prompt and thorough investigation, both by Congress and appropriate law enforcement agencies, of all issues raised by this revelation, including whether such authorization constitutes an impeachable offense under Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution, and

Be it further resolved, that DP/SFV calls upon area elected officials, including Congress members and Senators, to support this action.
