Stonewall Young Democrats Hero Awards

Please join the Stonewall Young Democrats at this year’s Hero Awards on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Santa Monica Art Studios (3026 Airport Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90405).

Hosted by Hal Sparks of Queer as Folk: Stonewall Young Democrats are proud to recognize five individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of our community:

-Mentorship Award: West Hollywood City Council Member Jeffrey Prang
-Trailblazer Award: Gail Rolf & Virginia Uribe, Co-Founders of Project 10
-Visionary Award: Liliana Perez, Community Leader and LGBT Rights Activist
-Youth Advocacy Award: Jody Marksamer, National Center for Lesbian Rights

The Hero Awards is our largest annual fundraising event. With your generous support, Stonewall Young Democrats can continue to raise the political consciousness and social responsibility of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) Youth, fight for numerous LGBTQ and Democratic Party causes ranging from the repeal of “Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell” to Marriage Equality, engage in vigorous voter outreach for upcoming federal, state and local elections, and provide effective leadership training for our members and officers.
